Easter 2011
Happy Easter 2011! Praise the LORD! He is risen and our everlasting HOPE!:)
Last year we got back from GA right around Easter time, so this picture reminds me of the Easter picture we took of the kids then. Wow, we've been back a year already... actually more because last year Easter was end of March beginning of April... Time sure flies and life is certainly a vapor...
We had a great time eating turkey and all the fixings at Mom and Dad's. I was glad not to have to do anything, being so close to having the baby... Kate is in full on "goof mode". Getting a sweet "cheese" from her is difficult now. She just wants to be silly for the camera and loves to see herself after we take a picture.
OK, maybe not too difficult, I managed to get some sweetness out of her. I love her curls and dress! She is adorable no matter what, but WOW! (If Mommy does say so herself:))
Kate had fun hunting eggs. We did it twice and then SHE hid them for ME to find. Now she wants to hide the babie's Easter basket for the baby to find (which is null and void because we haven't had the baby yet but was ready just in case:)).
Handsome Son finding eggs...
A good family picture just wasn't in the cards for us this year I guess. Oh well, next year:)
Love this beautiful face!:)

Her First Haircut
Yesterday, Sweeters got her first haircut. This is the before picture. We have mixed emotions at our little girl growing up so fast, but she looks adorable non the less! In honor of this milestone, we had a special girls day out. She got her hair done. Then we went to get coffee, and then we hit the mall of course.
Getting set up.
Checking the evenness before Mommy said, "Hmmm.... yeah, maybe go a little shorter". I wanted this cute little short cut, but was scared to go too short, so it took us two tries to finally get there. Not such a good idea with a wiggly two year old, but she did great holding still anyways.
Pretty girl:)
For a two and a half year old, she did a great job of keeping her head down.
She was pretty serious through it all, not knowing quite what to think at this new experience. At the same time I could tell she was having a good time and knew it was special. Trying to get her to smile for the pictures, she would sometimes respond with trying NOT to smile:) ha ha. We made quiet the fuss over her. Of course she would bust out a happy smile of delight every once in a while. She is so cute!
All done! Thanks Jen!:) Wonderful work as usual!:)
So excited and happy! She gave me the biggest hug! I wondered if I should have done her first hair cut yet. I didn't cry at this age transforming milestone. (I was to busy trying to take pictures of every snip.) However, my heart twinges at the thought of how fast the years go by... Next week she'll be driving... She looks so much older, growing up so fast. I guess we can't stop time, but maybe waiting would have slowed it down. At the same time, her hair was kinda straggly at the ends, I was in love with this short cut, and it would also make her hair easier to manage... When we got home, Daddy thought she looked so cute, but he was hit with the fact that her toddler years are behind us, and she is now a beautiful little girl, who will all to soon be grown and gone... Needless to say, I could tell he felt an EXTRA need to hold her and hug her that night. Such is life... so precious.
She loves the Horizon "cow milk" as she calls it! A special outing wouldn't be complete with out one.
She thought it was pretty cool looking out the window of the Penney's skybridge and all the activity and cars buzzing under outside.
She had fun running around at Penney's while I shopped around a little bit, in between calling her back.
We went to Claires to find her some cute hair stuff. She immediately picked out a headband that she liked, all on her own and eventually found a princess "purse". Actually, it is a case to store glasses in, but it looks like a little purse. She is into Cinderella right now, her first princess. She carried the purse around the whole time. I somewhat tried to talk her out of it at the end, but to no avail. So even though it was more than I was wanting to spend, I splurged on it for her special day:) She LOVES it!:) She even went to bed with it, and when she woke me up this morning, guess what was on her arm. So adorable!
Still shopping, wearing the head band she picked out at the beginning.
We also found a Cinderella chapstick. Blueberry. She loves it and I have to tell her frequently to "put it away" and "that is enough".
Finished the night by eating at Hot Dog On A Stick. Tuesday's are $1 days for a corndog. What a fun day to commemorate her first hair cut! She's such a big girl!

Bauskas is ONE!
bubba-son turned one on June 26. In honor of this first birthday milestone, we got him a walker wagon for fun and learning to walk... uh, and to satisfy my obsession with all things Radio Flyer. The first thing he wanted to do was climb in. He loved it instantly!
Enjoying his birthday grub with Sis. Grandpa made fish tacos and a "disco" (hamburger and potatoes in a taco) for the celebration.
Cake time! He is so precious!:)
Digging in.
My handsome little bubba-son!
Opening presents was fun. Big Sister got to help a lot. Of course the kids all wanted to play with the toys. Love this photo of him with all the little friends, who are so much bigger than him crowding around to get a piece of the action!:) ha ha.
Grandma and Grandpa have a swing set for the kids in the back yard. Jack can climb now and almost always makes a beeline for the ladder leading up to the slide and another drop off which he trys to back off of. If he ever succeeds I'm afraid he'll be severely injured, so my days of relaxing on the sidelines are over for a little while:) He goes down the slide on his tummy. What a big boy:)
Having fun with his new toy. He loves it!

Bubba Notes
Bubbason can crawl up and down stairs by himself now. He also claps/patacake and waves byebye. I am also seeing his forth top tooth, his left from the middle one... Really, I don't care about teeth. I don't even know what they are named. How in the world am I supposed to tell which he got, when. There's a space for it in his baby book. That is not gonna happen. OH ANNND he is starting to let go of what he is holding on to while standing, and stand on his own with both hands up. He also loves to explore in the back yard and play outside, and climb up the slide... Actually he tries to climb just about anything he can:)

See, I Blog
Hanging out in the Valley with our babies, I MEAN "coaching Jr. High track". We all had so much fun! I love doing this with my friend Amanda. It is a ton of work to get two babies (we each have two) ready to go on a track trip for the day, but once that is done its totally layed back and chill.... uh... for the most part:) This is our stop with the team for food after the meet.
The adorable shriekers.
At ACS graduation, with one of the girls (Liz:)) that I had the privilege of coaching (basketball). Rahyah!:)
Kate loves to get a TV tray and eat with Grampa. Grandpas are soooo much fun! Especially hers:)
Exploring and playing outside. They LOVE it!:)
Sweeters is so grown up now! She talks so well. What a character:) Working on the potty thing still, but she does alright. She LOVES Uncle Shaun and Aunt Jaime. They took her out to Applesbees the other day and loaded her up on junkfood and kept her out till way past her bed time because they are the coolest Aunt and Uncle ever!:) Wish I had a tape recorder to catch her sayings, and singing songs etc... She sings Jesus Loves Me, God is So Good, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.... and more. It is ADORable. Some phrases, "Be wite back", adding "K?" to the end of things, "N go chuch", "Wan much Mom" (I want much, she wants a lot:)) and new stuff all the time too.
This is how we eat around here:)

Bubbason can play pat-a-cake now, clapping his hands all on his own!:) Daddy taught him to a few days ago. He also climbs UP the slide. I'll reason with him later about going "up the stairs, down the slide". He has started climbing anything he can, of course we have to watch the stairs. He is so quick! Today he has decided to go down the stairs, sliding backwards on his tummy... and he even reasoned that he should turn himself around to go down just now....
I took the kids for a walk the other day and realized it was finally summer here in the AK. It was worth the wait though. The sights and smells of summer in Alaska are so wonderful! MMmmmmm!:) Beautiful!:) We have been enjoying playing outside in Gramma and Grampas backyard which is huge! I love to watch the kids play together out there! SO CUTE! They both love playing outside. I love it because it is a great break for me:)
We are currently still bunking with Mom and Dad, but in the process of working on our house and getting it ready to move back into, hopefully by the end of this week. We had it rented out while we were in GA. Our renters were wonderful and took excellent care of the place. We just have all these projects we want to do, and now is the perfect time before we move back in. Fun stuff!:) I am so excited to be back in our house and organized, and with all the projects we're doing it's gonna be like a whole new house!
Also keeping me busy lately WAS coaching Jr. High track, but that is over now. I help out occasionally with basketball and am hoping to be able to coach next season. We'll have to see how crazy things are or areN't.... Love coaching, but being a Mommy is a very busy job for those of you who were wondering, and I am not sure I can do both effectively. We'll see.... I am also going to do a ladies Bible study this summer which I am really excited about, so preparing for that has also kept me pretty busy. Praise the LORD his word is so rich and so good, and through it we see His face...
Well thats it for me. I figured I would do an update since it has been forever since I actually blogged.... Now to go the extra mile and post a picture....
